aw2017Hi, I’m Angela Watson, dog lover, blogger, coach, and dog trainer. I’m also a Kennel Club registered Judge.

Once upon a time I thought I had everything that was supposed to make me happy. The man, the house, the cars, the career, the holidays, the money.

But it didn’t.

I was a total mess. A former nurse and senior manager in one of the busiest acute hospitals on the South Coast, I lived (and worked) too busy, too worried, and too overwhelmed. And all of that took too much toll on my relationships, and my psychological well being.

So at the age of 40 I made a conscious decision to radically change my lifestyle.

I walked away from the security of full time employment and immersed myself in a programme of personal development. I also bought a puppy!

For the past ten years I’ve worked exclusively for myself, building my Coaching and Teambuilding With Dogs business. I specialise in teaching how behaviour lies at the heart of effective leadership, communication, and teamwork, using the simple psychology that works when I’m training dogs.

I’m the author of The Clean Approach To Leadership, co-author of the research paper Bringing Change In Primary Care which showed that a leadership programme I helped design and deliver made a statistically siginficant difference to the leadership capability of GP’s. I also contributed to the book Essential Career Transitions Coaching by Caroline Talbott.

Among my favourite things are trips to the seaside, fairweather camper-vanning, and brightly coloured jewellery.

I’d love to hear your thoughts so please comment on the posts and tell me how you delight in everyday life with your dogs and your ideas for things to feature.

And for those of you who haven’t yet dipped your paws into the wonderful world of  dogs; I recommend you have a go. But be warned…they can change your life.
